The Classics Online is a book club for readers, students, and researchers of classical works, including fiction, philosophy, plays, poetry, religion, and science. Instead of buying individual titles, TCO members pay just $1 per month (or $10 for the year) to access the entire library, and that library is growing monthly. Guest readers can check out a limited number of titles that we make available every month.
Our custom online books include bookmarks, reader settings, reader notes, wiki posts, and inline editor notes that add greater insight into the work you’re reading. All you need is an internet-connected device, such as a tablet, phone, or computer.
All the works published on The Classics Online are in the public domain, free to read and copy. We’ve done the work of gathering them and building an easy-to-use online reader that is flexible and accessible. Your monthly dollar helps pay for the cost of running the service and updating the collection.
